One of the principles we are most proud of here at Cielo is WE BECOME YOU™ – our total-immersion approach to serving our clients.
This philosophy guides each of our partnerships, directing us to essentially become each client’s talent acquisition function, embedding ourselves in their organizations – including using client email addresses – learning their industry, living their culture, and delivering to them the candidates they need.
Our Recruiters and Talent Acquisition Coordinators come to identify so strongly with their client teams that sometimes they feel more like employees of our clients than of Cielo! Identity crisis aside, it speaks to the level of communication and dedication in our work.
Beyond just providing a definition of WE BECOME YOU, we wanted to let you hear from some of the people who are living it every day.
RACHEL AMMERMAN
Recruiter
What does WE BECOME YOU mean to you?
RA: It’s just about completely embracing your client and their values. When I tell people who I work for, it’s just automatic. “Oh, yeah, I work for Palmetto Health down in South Carolina.” You’re so ingrained with that every day. We go visit in-person frequently, and we make sure that our partners in HR and the hiring leaders we work with see our faces and that we have a presence.
When I was doing my research on the company, I learned things like the values, the mission statement, and I spent a lot of time studying the website. There was a lot of talking with the hiring leaders, just getting more of a feel for what goes on every day, and you pick up a lot just in the way they talk to each other. You see how passionate they are about their jobs, and it’s easier to understand where they’re coming from. But I also tried to learn a lot about the area. For instance, if someone says they live in Spartanburg, you want to know how far away that is from Columbia. I need to know the geography and where everyone is. I also need to be able to be credible for things like restaurant recommendations, hotels and what attractions are in the area. What’s great about that for me is now I don’t even have to use my GPS when I go visit.
How does the client react to this?
RA: It just makes you more credible. It really shows that you’re dedicated to the hospital and everything they’re doing. You’re trained in the values, and you build genuine relationships with everyone there. We’re all meshed together, and they treat us like Palmetto Health employees.
They know we want them to succeed, and they want us to succeed. So it’s not like I come to work every day and just say, “All right, I’ll do this and go home.” A lot of us have probably had those times where we wake up in the middle of the night and think about if there’s something we forgot to do. And with healthcare, you just feel it more. If the hospital is low-staff, they have to shut down units. People’s lives are at stake, so we’re all in this together.
Did WE BECOME YOU mean picking up a Southern accent?
RA: No, and they give me a hard time for my accent. They’re always like, “You’re from up north, aren’t you?” They don’t care, it’s all good-spirited. Here and there, they’ll make fun of the Packers, but that’s OK.
EEF ROSSEEL
Recruitment Lead
What does WE BECOME YOU mean to you?
ER: We operate just as an in-house recruitment team would and accustom ourselves to the cultural environment of the client. In my day-to-day job, this means that I take part in Recruitment and general HR meetings, and I truly feel integrated. Candidates see us as internal recruiters. This means we carry over the client’s brand, and we can bring their culture and spirit across to candidates, which makes for the best kind of candidate experience.
How do clients react to WE BECOME YOU?
ER: We often hear, “Oh, I thought an agency would pick this up.” Internal stakeholders deal with us and tend to think we are internal, because we deliver up to the client’s standards, and always strive to go beyond. The fact that we are on-site and in touch with the environment optimizes the collaboration. It’s not a situation of us-and-them but WE together. I believe this uniformity makes the difference.
Do you ever feel more like you work for the client than Cielo?
ER: Yes, I’m proud to say I work at a big FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) player. The dynamics of the company’s culture is very in line with my personal preference. I’m on-site daily and am closer to the local teams than to some of my colleagues at Cielo. However, as a Team Lead, I’m always conscious about creating the best value for both parties. I believe having this intermediate role is what makes my position extra challenging and complex. I love the extra dynamics this gives to my job. Cielo is my backbone and supports me in my job by offering me personal development and recognition. My position wouldn’t be the same without this, and I’m very thankful for it.
What’s your story that best reflects how you practice WE BECOME YOU?
ER: When the local HR Manager sends an email, she addresses the on-site Cielo team as ‘”Hi Colleagues,” at the end. This is what we are and how we are seen.

Senior Recruiter
What does WE BECOME YOU mean to you?
RJ: It is what sets Cielo apart among our competitors. I have a difficult time believing that another RPO provider would take the extra step to truly become ingrained in a company’s business, values and culture. Even after four years on my client account, I still have Hiring Managers and Business Unit Leaders who assume that I’m an Ingram Micro associate.
How do clients react to WE BECOME YOU?
RJ: Clients appreciate our commitment to doing what’s necessary to understand their business and culture and to carry that information into everything we do on a daily basis. It has a direct result on a more streamlined and flawless candidate experience, but, as a Recruiter, it also helps me identify candidates who will thrive in their environment.
What’s your story that best reflects how you practice WE BECOME YOU?
RJ: After four years on my current client team, we are viewed as true partners. In some situations with clients, it can feel like an “us vs. them” dynamic when analyzing talent acquisition support. But my current team has been able to establish a solid relationship through understanding our client’s needs and delivering on them. There is no line in the sand dividing us. We are truly seen as equals.

Senior Talent Acquisition Coordinator
What does WE BECOME YOU mean to you?
LG: It means that we become one of the employees who work for our client. Being on the BMS team for a few years now, I do feel like I am a BMS employee. I have worked with the same group of people this whole time, and our communication with each other can be informal. It would be the equivalent of how I interact with my current Cielo colleagues. For instance, there is an Administrative Assistant at the Devens (Massachusetts) site whom I work with very closely. We have worked together for so long that I remember her phone number by heart. When she calls, I know it’s her just from the sound of her voice.
How do clients react to WE BECOME YOU?
LG: I think this is one of our best features for the client. We become immersed in their culture, we develop relationships with their employees, and we become invested in how well they do as a company.
From the first moment I speak with a candidate, they won’t ever hear me refer to myself other than as a BMS employee. From the relationships that I have developed with my BMS colleagues and my Cielo colleagues, I feel as though there isn’t a difference in those relationships. I value all of my colleagues and truly do enjoy working with them.
Do you ever feel more like you work for the client than Cielo?
LG: Sometimes it can be hard, because you become so wrapped up in the client’s culture that if/when the contract ends, it is a bit sad. It’s like the equivalent of quitting your job to go start with a new company. However, that is part of what RPO is all about. And the more invested we become, the better it is for our client and for Cielo in general. I have a lot of pride in where I work and what I do.
